Final Poster 4/11

For my homework I decided to look into Prezi and Weebly. First I connected to the Prezi link. I was immediately interestested because I could connect to my Facebook to create an account. This makes Prezi really easy to get into. From there I explored how to get started. This process took me a little time to understand, but after understanding how to use Prezi I came to a con. Prezi is great for making a standard PowerPoint interesting, but it can be quiet difficult and complex. On the other had I started using Weebly. Similar to Prezi, I could connect to my Facebook in order to create an account. I also quickly realized Weebly is much more organized and business oriented. Weebly is easier to use but for my assignment I will use Prezi, because it is more efficient for the task.

Finding Statistics and Government Information 3/14

I decided to use a government source website. When I went to the link “ http://www.usa.gov/ “ I searched the key words of my topic “school shooting.” It was then I realized that USA.gov was a database for government operated websites. When I typed in the key words a list of official websites popped up. I personally felt that the FBI website was best fit for my topic, because genocide and shootings are usually a federal matter. The site gave me accurate information that has not yet been published in a book or encyclopedia due to how recent these events have occurred. There was also information that I had yet to discover. As a matter of fact The site gave me statistics that would complement a sub-note in my topic. Overall this site has helped me the most out of them all, and I plan on using it again in the future.

For my research i started off using Reddit, because it is a source i have never used. I typed in the the key words "school shooting," and immediately it brought up the horrific elementary school shooting that occurred in sandy hook Connecticut. I would have to say this is a source i would go to for everyone's opinion. This style of news is very similar to twitter. Althought this was a helpful web page i do not see myself using it in everyday life.


Personally I usually use social media to keep in touch with friends, im not really interested in what people post every second of the day

 In this article Timm Collins descibes the event using adjectives such as loved and desired, this shows how he sided with the fact that this was an emotional event.

"Presearch" 2/14

I feel that the "presearch" process we did in class has helped me get my topic just where i need it in order to give my point of view on the topic across to my audience. Thanks to the speaker who came in fro\m the library staff\, I now know more into detail about out library. This has made it easier to find book, encyclopedia, journals, novel, and etc. The book I am currently using in the library is Attitudes, personality, and behavior [electronic resource] by Ajzen, Icek. My current topic question is , "What causes an individual to commit a mass shooting such as the one that occured at Sandy Hook Elementary ? "

Research Process 2/12

While doing this research project i have learned a much better way to research. I also learned how to use Galiao to a much greater extent. It has also helped me in my other classes with researching topics and citing the correct soureces. There are not many things i am confused about, because we go into detail and walk through the instuctions several times during class. I dont really feel we need to cover any of the instructions any more than we already have, because we have covered everything in great detail.
